The annual awards celebration and installation of officers will be held Friday, January 27, 2012 from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Koger Conference Center located at 1021 Koger Center Boulevard, Richmond, 23235. Donner Grigsby, NASA engineer and NASA Langley's 2004, 2005, and 2006 Speaker of the Year will be the keynote speaker.

In preparation for the arrival of potentially strong wind and heavy rain associated with Hurricane Irene, Chesterfield County Administrator James J.L. Stegmaier has declared a local state of emergency. Chesterfield County will open its Emergency Operations Center on Saturday, Aug. 27, at 8 a.m. The EOC will be staffed by many county departments, including public-safety officials, to coordinate the county’s overall response to the storm.

An astounding total of 2577 pieces of denim were donated to the Denim Drive at the Chesterfield Towne Center, representing 37 Chesterfield County PTAs. That is an increase of 800% more denim donated this year than last year.
